Potato Chops Recipe, How To Make Potato Chop Recipe
THIS recipe is very tasty found every Sunday at my place during breakfast munched with bread or pav.
Potato chop recipe is again East Indian recipe (Mumbai).The filling of potato chop is made of minced.We can use mince of our choice like lamb,chicken or beef. I have used chicken minced. The vegetarian can also prepare the potato chop recipe you can substitute minced with soya minced, paneer, tofu, mix vegetable filling and instead of eggs use cornflour paste and roll in bread crumb.
Potato chop can be eaten as breakfast, packed for tiff-en for kids or serve as stater.It is yummy.

Serves:3-4
Ingredients:
For Filling:
- 1/2 kg chicken mince
- 2 large onions chopped
- 1"ginger chopped
- 6 flakes garlic chopped
- 4 green chillies
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 sour lime
- 1 tbsp mint leaves chopped
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
- pinch garam masala
Method to make filling:
1.Heat oil add all the chopped ingredients one by one and fry it nicely till light brown.
2.Now add the chicken mince,salt and garam masala,1/2 cup water and sour lime.
3.Cook till the mixture is dry.
4.When mixture is dry off the gas and keep the mixture in side to let it cool.
For outer covering:
- 4 Potatoes (boiled and smashed)
- salt to taste
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 cup bread crumb or semolina (rava)
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
Method:
1.Take a small portion of smashed potato (big lemon size) flatten it to form the shape of your palm (1/4"thick),if potato is too sticky grease your palm with some oil cup your palm a little to form a pocket.
2.Add one tbsp or as required filling to the center of the flattened potato pocket.Enclose the filling by drawing up sides of the pocket and cover the filling completely so that no filling should be visible.
3.Continue the same process the rest of the smashed potato and filling.
4.Heat oil in a wide frying pan.Roll the potato chop in beaten egg and then breadcrumbs and fry it golden brown both sides.
5.Serve hot with bread.
