Cucumber Cake Recipe (Tavsali), Easy Tea Time Cake recipe


 Cucumber cake is cake baked of large and ripe cucumber not the small one.This cake is baked by East Indian families also known as 'Tavsali'.  Being an East Indian I am very happy to share this recipe to you’ll my friends. Have this cake during tea time. This cucumber cake is really yummy.

Step By Step Method

Take large and ripe cucumber, grated it and keep in a strainer to strain.                           

                    
These are the ingredients grated cucumber, jaggery, semolina, grated fresh coconut, crushed green cardomon.

Take a bowl add grated cucumber to it.

Add to it semolina.

Now add fresh grated coconut.

Add grated jaggery.

Add crushed green cardamon.

Mix all the ingredient all together and put in greased baking dish (grease the dish adding one teaspoon butter and one teaspoon maida sprinkle to the dish) add the better to it and bake in pre-heated oven at 180 degree for thirty minutes.

 Ingredients :
  • 1 cucumber (large and ripe)
  • 200 gm semolina (rava)
  • 1 small coconut (grated)
  • 1/4 kg jaggary
  • 4 cardamons crushed
Method :

1. Grate the cucumber mix all the above ingredients.
2. Keep aside for 5 hours
3. Now bake it till done.

Notes:


1. I usually bake this cake in pre-heated oven 180 degree for 30 mins.
2. Then I prick it and see whether done if it sticks means not  done if it do not stick that means done.
3. Grease the cake tin with butter and sprinkle  maida.
4. Take the big cucumber not the small one.
5. Can add 3 tbsp butter or 3 tbsp ghee and 2 tbsp chop cashew nuts.
