Sabudana Khichdi Recipe, How To Make Sabudana Khichdi
Sabudana khichdi is my favorite dish.Whenever I feel of skipping my dinner I prepare this dish instead of starving. Sabudana khichdi recipe or sago recipe is also one of fasting dish.When people fast they prepare this dish it is most popular recipe during fasting.It can also be prepared as snack or tiffen for kids.
Preparation Time:10 minutes
Cooking time:10 minutes
Serves:3-4
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sabudana (sago)
- 3 tbsp peanuts (roasted and crushed coarsely)
- 1 medium potato (option)
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seed
- 6 nos curry leaves
- pinch of turmeric
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves chop
- 1 nylon sev
- 3 green chilies
- salt to taste
1.In a pan put oil add curry leaves and crushed (cumin and green chilies).
2.Now add sabudana and pinch of turmeric stir.
3.Add crushed peanut, salt,sugar and lemon juice and give a quick stir.
4.All mixed nicely and sabudana leaves the side means ready add coriander leaves and off the gas.
5.Serve it hot garnishing nylon sev.
Notes:
1.We usually have complaints that sabudana while cooking turns sticky don't worry follow my instruction and it will not be stick but yummy,soak the sabudana overnight, in a shallow and wide bowl, add just enough water up to just 1 1/2" above the sabudana. If you add more water while soaking, sabudana will turn sticky.While preparing khichdi it is important to drain all the water, so let it drain in colander or strainer for ten minutes.
2.Friends those who are preparing this recipe for fast can prepare this recipe by avoiding turmeric,lime juice,coriander leaves and nylon sev and follow the rest ingredients and method.
