Valachi Amti Recipe, Dalimbi chi usal recipe
Val is also known as Bridya or Dalimbi.It is prepared in coastal region.During the Maharashtrian wedding or during Ganesh Chaturthi feast we find this dish.While making this amti they use kokum or tamarind and pinch of jaggary and also they use grated coconut but I have modified this recipe.Specially goda masala is used but I have used malwani masala.Try this recipe and don't forget to leave back your comments and feedback.
Ingredient:
200 gm val
2 nos potatoes cubed
1 onion chopped
1 tomato cubed
1/2" ginger (optional)
2 nos brinjal cubed (optional)
2 tsp malwani masala or mix masala
1/2 tsp turmeric pd
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
6 nos curry leaves
pinch asafoetida
To make paste:
5 tbsp coconut (roasted)
1 small onion (roasted)
6 garlic pods
1 tbsp coriander leaves
2 green chilies
200 gm val
2 nos potatoes cubed
1 onion chopped
1 tomato cubed
1/2" ginger (optional)
2 nos brinjal cubed (optional)
2 tsp malwani masala or mix masala
1/2 tsp turmeric pd
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
6 nos curry leaves
pinch asafoetida
To make paste:
5 tbsp coconut (roasted)
1 small onion (roasted)
6 garlic pods
1 tbsp coriander leaves
2 green chilies
Method:
1.In a pan add oil, when hot add add curry leaves,asafoetida, chopped onion, saute till pink.
2.Now add chop tomato fry till oil comes out.
3.Add potatoes,malwani masala and turmeric pd.
4.Add the paste and boiled val and salt to taste.
5.Add one cup water or as you required for gravy bring a nice boil and then slow the flame and cook till potato cook.
6.Serve hot with steam rice and chapati.
