Patoli Recipe Or Patoleo Recipe, How To Make Patoli Recipe
Patoli recipe is a sweet and fresh turmeric leaves flavoured sweet dish. Patoli's are prepared in Catholic families as well as Hindu families.
Catholic prepare this recipe on 15th August, it is the feast of our Lady called 'The Assumption of our Lady' (a holy day of obligation) and also it is prepared on the day of Sao Jaao (St John) feast and Konsachem fest (harvest festival). The Hindus prepare patoli during Shravan, also they offer naivedya during Ganpati festival.
Patoli is also known as Patoleo. Patoli recipe is prepared in the fresh turmeric leaves, which gives an aroma and flavor. Rice flour is kneaded to soft dough then, spread on turmeric leaves and stuffed with grated coconut, jaggery and poha, then steamed and serve.
8. Add luke warm water and knead well.
9. Knead the dough till it is soft.
10. Take a lemon size rice flour dough, spread it on patoli leaf evenly.
11. Spread the stuffing in the centre.
14. Take a steamer, add water to it and let it boil.
15. Put all the patoli's in the steamer.
16. Cover the steamer and steam the patoli's for ten minutes.
17. Patoli's are ready.
18. Patoli's are ready to serve.

Step By Step Method
1. Wash the turmeric leaves under running water.
2. Wipe it with kitchen towel and keep aside.
3. Take a bowl add poha to it.
4. Add sliced jaggery to it.
5. Now add fresh grated coconut to it.
6. Add green cardamon powder and mix nicely and keep aside.
7. Take rice flour add salt and mix well.8. Add luke warm water and knead well.
9. Knead the dough till it is soft.
10. Take a lemon size rice flour dough, spread it on patoli leaf evenly.
11. Spread the stuffing in the centre.
12. Fold the patoli and seal the sides.
13. Patoli's are ready to steam.14. Take a steamer, add water to it and let it boil.
15. Put all the patoli's in the steamer.
16. Cover the steamer and steam the patoli's for ten minutes.

Ingredients:
- Fresh turmeric leaves- 9 nos
- rice flour- 250 gm
- salt- 1/2 tsp
- luke warm water required to knead (soft dough)
- 1 cup fresh grated coconut
- 1 cup grated jaggery (gudha)
- 1/4 cup poha (flatten rice)
- 1/2 tsp green cardamon powder
- Wash and rinse the fresh turmeric leaves under running water, wipe it with kitchen towel.
- Now take a bowl add fresh grated coconut, jaggery, poha and cardamon powder all mix nicely and keep aside.
- Now take turmeric leaves, take a small dough and spread it on the leaves and stuff the coconut mixture in centre and give a fold.
- Take a steamer add water let it become hot.
- Now put the plate and assemble the stuffed patoli in it, put lid and steam it for ten minutes.
- Patoli's are ready to serve.
- If the fresh turmeric leaves are big then we have to slit the middle vein gently with knife.
- Jaggery can be added as per taste.
- Wash and rinse the fresh turmeric leaves and wipe it with kitchen towel then use it.
- Can add dry fruit to the stuffing.
