Palak Or Spinach Chicken Recipe, Easy Palak Chicken Recipe

Palak (spinach) Chicken is very healthy recipe. Palak contains rich sources of several vital anti-oxidant vitamins like A, C and K, also contains iron and folic, hence palak is a store house for many phyto- nutrients. At the same time chicken contains protein.

Palak chicken recipe is a healthy and yummy recipe.

Chicken is blended with common spices, curd, fresh cream and main key of this recipe palak blanched and puréed.

Step By Step Method

1. Put oil in the vessel.

2. Add cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and let it crackle.

3. Add the chop onion and sauté till golden brown.

4. Make a paste of green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger and garlic.

5. Add the paste to the brown onion.

6. When oil leaves the side add cleaned and washed chicken to it.

7. Sauté the chicken till it changes it colour.

8. Add to it chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and add little water cook.

9. Add the beaten curd and stir till masala and chicken are merged together.

10. Add the palak puree to it mix well add water as required take a nice boil and cook on slow flame till the chicken is done or cooked.

11. When chicken is cooked add fresh cream and salt.

12. Stir well add the garam masala give a quick stir and off the flame of the gas.

13. Palak chicken is ready to serve garnish fresh cream and coriander leaves.

14. Serve it with hot steam rice.

Ingredients:
  • 1 kg Chicken 
  • 3 nos onion 
  • 10 nos palak leaves ( can add one small bunch for green colour)
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 tsp coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 4 tbsp beaten curd
  • 2 tbsp fresh cream+ 1 tbsp to garnish
  • salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 4 nos black pepper
  • 2 small cinnamon
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 glass water or as required
To make paste:
  • 1" ginger
  • 10 nos cloves garlic
  • 3 nos green chillies
  • few strigs coriander leaves
Method:
  1. Put oil in the pan, when hot add cloves, cinnamon, black pepper let it crackle.
  2. Add to it chop onion and sauté till golden brown.
  3. Now add to it the paste.
  4. Now add to it chicken and sauté till colour changes.
  5. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and add one-fourth cup of water and sauté the masala.
  6. Now add the curd and stir it nicely.
  7. Add the palak puree to it (Palak blanched and made puree).
  8. Add water as required for gravy and take a boil and simmer and cook till chicken is done.
  9. Add cream and garam masala powder.
  10. Stir all nicely and take a boil.
  11. Palak chicken is ready to serve.
Notes:
  • Add one small bunch of palak for dark green colour for gravy.
  • After adding cream and garam masala do not cook for more time.
