Sev Recipe, Easy Sev Recipe
Sev is a popular Indian snacks. It is also known as crunchy noddles made from besan or chick flour kneaded adding salt, oil and water, then deep fried in oil and stored in airtight container.
There are various varieties of sev like tomato flavour, palak flavour, garlic flavour, clove (lavang), added along with spices, carom seeds. Also there are variation made like bhujia, gathiya...
I have prepared the simple method of sev adding salt, oil and water.
Sev can be eaten as snacks served along with tea or can be topped on dishes like bhelpuri or panipuri, also can be served along with soups.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 7-8
1. Take besan in parath or wide plate.
2. Add salt to it.
3. Now add oil.
4. Add little water and knead it.
6. After kneading the dough should be soft.
7. This is the mould to prepare the sev.
8. Grease the mould with oil.
9. Roll the dough and put inside the mould.
10. Fill the mould three-fourth.
11. Close the mould.
12. Drop the sev in rotation, one direction.
13. The sev comes out of the mould, and is dropped into oil.
14. Let it cook for few minutes.
15. Turn it upside down.
16. Cook till it is crisp.
17. Remove it on paper towel.
18. Sev is ready to serve.

- 1/2 kg Besan or Chickpea flour
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 cup oil (for kneading)
- 1 glass water or as required
- oil for deep frying
- In a wide parth or plate put besan or chick flour.
- Add to it salt, oil and little water.
- Knead till it is soft adding water as required.
- Then take sev mould grease it with oil.
- Add the dough to the mould fill it till three-fourth and close the mould.
- Heat oil for deep frying the sev.
- Drop the sev in oil and fry for seconds.
- Then turn it upside down again cook till crisp and remove.
- Sev is ready to serve.
- After frying the sev remove it on kitchen paper, cool it completely and store in air-tight container.
