Bread Pakora Recipe, How To Make Bread Pakora Recipe

Bread pakora is found on the streets of Mumbai. Bread pakora is a favorite breakfast and tea time snacks in India. It is stuff with potato filling inside the slice bread like sandwich,dip in better of gram flour (besan) and deep fried on medium flame until they are crisp and golden brown. Mom's can foil Bread pakora and put in children tiff-en box I am sure your children will like it.

Preparation Time :20 mins
Cooking Time :15 mins
Serve: 4 persons.

Ingredient:

For outer covering-
  • Bread slices 4 nos
  • Besan (gram flour) 1 cup
  • water as required (better consistence)
  • salt as taste
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • carom seeds 1/4 tsp
Stuffing:
  • potatoes 3 nos
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • onion 1 tbsp chopped  (option)
  • ginger 1/2 tsp
  • green chilly chop 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 1/2 tsp
  • coriander leaves chopped 1 tbsp
Method for Stuffing:
  1. In a pan put oil let it become hot for two minutes. 
  2. When oil is hot add cumin seeds when splutter,  add asafoetida, now add chop onion saute till pink add chop ginger and green chilly chop saute.
  3. Now add turmeric powder add boiled smashed potatoes stir nicely till all mixed nicely.Add lemon  juice off the gas add coriander mix nicely. Remove the masala in plate and let it cold.
  4. Note: (Here if you don’t let your stuffing cold then when you stuff the bread it become soft).
  5. Now take your slice bread put the stuffing all over and spread it and cover the other slice bread on top.
  6. Now cut the bread to triangle and keep a side.
Better:
  1. In a bowl take besan add salt, now add pinch asafoetida, carom seeds and a pinch turmeric add water and make better.
  2. (better should have dosa consistency).
  3. Now take triangle cut bread dip in the better and deep fry in hot oil on medium flame until they are crisp and golden brown on both the side. 
  4. Remove on tissue paper (excess oil is pulled by tissue paper).
  5. Serve with green chutney,(see my next recipe for green chutney) and tomato sauce.

Notes:
  1. Adding asafoetida avoids gas problem in our stomach.Potato and Besan contain gas so you find I have added asafoetida to my recipe.
  2. We can add green chutney on the bread then put the filling.
