Surmai is one of the most popular sea fish varieties in the country. The fish is known for being an almost smell-less fish with a single bone. The fish has an excellent taste and very good meat quality. It’s a good choice for grilling, roasting, barbequing and making Indian curries with. A great fish for people who are new to trying seafood, the fish has a single bone. Fish fry recipe is very easy, quick and yummy starter or side dish.
Ingredients:
- 250 gm Surmai fish (cut into pieces and washed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 lemon juice
- 3 tbsp semolina
- 2 tbsp cooking oil for fry
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
- Marinate fish for an hour (surmai fish, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and lemon juice).
- Roll it in semolina.
- Heat oil on nonstick pan, fry marinated fish pieces in heated oil, fry pieces from all the sides. It will take 10 minutes to fry.
- Serve hot and garnish with coriander leaves and lemon.
Note:
- Can substitute red chilli powder to mix masala or bottle masala or fish fry masala.
- Also can add ginger and garlic paste.
