Bread besan toast is a snack recipe, can prepare as evening snacks or any time when you are hungry. It is very easy and quick snack.

Bread besan toast is alternative to French toast, it can also be known as veg French toast. It is having common ingredients found in kitchen, dipped in better of besan (gram flour) and shallow fried.

We can substitute white bread to brown bread or multi grain bread, instead of shallow fry can take one teaspoon oil each on both sides and fry. Serve this with green chutney or ketchup.

Cooking Time: 7 minutes

Step By Step Method.

1. Take besan in a bowl.

2. Add chopped onion, chopped chillies and chopped coriander leaves.

3. Add chilli powder.

4. Add turmeric powder.

5. Add salt.

6. Add water as required for medium consistency.

7. Whisk it nicely, no lumps should form.

8. Heat oil in a kadai and let it become hot.

9. Dip the bread in the better and coat it nicely.

10. Turn the bread and coat it nicely with the better.

11. Now drop the coated bread in hot oil and medium flame fry one side till crisp.

12. When one side is crisp, then turn upside down and fry again till crisp.

13. Bread besan toast is ready to serve, serve it with green chutney.

Ingredients:
  • 100 gm besan (gram flour)
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 7 tbsp oil (for shallow frying)
  • salt to taste
  • water as required (better should not be thick neither thin)
Method:
  1. Take a bowl add besan, chopped onion, chopped green chillies, chopped coriander leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt add water and make better, mix nicely, there
  2. should be no lumps.
  3. Take a kadai, put oil and allow it to become hot.
  4. Now dip the bread in better, coat the besan on both sides and drop it in hot oil and shallow fry both sides.
  5. When both sides are crisp, remove it on paper towel.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Notes:
  • Can add green chillies and red chilli powder as per taste.
  • Better should be medium consistency not thin nor thick.
  • Bread dip in better only twice or the bread becomes soft.
  • Serve it hot.
