French Beans Recipe Or Foogath Recipe, Easy French Bean Or Foogath Recipe.

French beans recipe or French beans foogath recipe is very healthy and tasty recipe. French beans are also known as string beans or snap beans or green beans.

It is prepared adding very few ingredients chopped onion, green chillies, turmeric powder and grated coconut. Sometimes beans pods contain a string, a hard fibrous strand running the length of the pod and it is often removed before cooking.

The fiber content of green beans is very high, it has sources like vitamins A, C, K, B6 and folic acid.

Step By Step Method


1. Add oil in kadai let it become hot.                                                                                                        showmerecipes

2. Add crushed garlic and stir for one minute.                                                                                          showmerecipes

3. Add the chopped onion ans saute till translucent.                                                                                showmerecipes

4. Add chopped green chillies and saute.

5. Add turmeric powder and stir.

6. Add the sliced French beans.                                                                                                                showmerecipes

7. Add salt and give a quick stir.

8. Cover lid and allow it to cook, till done, keep stiring occasionally.

9. Now add grated coconut and cook for three minutes.

10. French bean or foogath is ready to serve.

11. Serve the French bean or foogath with chapati.

Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:

  • French beans- 1/4 kg (wash, remove the string from sides, cut both ends tip and slice the beans)
  • onion chopped- 2 big nos or 3 small
  • garlic crushed- 6 nos
  • green chillies chopped- 3 nos
  • turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil- 3 tbsp
  • fresh grated coconut- 3 tbsp

Method:

  1. Put oil in kadai, when oil is hot add crushed garlic.
  2. Add chopped onion saute it till translucent.
  3. Now add the chop chillies and saute.
  4. Add the sliced french beans and saute it.
  5. Now add the salt and turmeric powder and saute it.
  6. Cover and cook, keep stiring occasionally.
  7. Ready to serve.

Tips:

  • Food to eat for digestive health are beetroot, pumpkin seeds, apple, yogurt, oats, whole grains, plums, pears, apricots.
