Chicken Cafreal Recipe/ Spicy Green Goan recipe/ Easy Chicken Cafreal Recipe
Chicken Cafreal is a spicy chicken preparation prepared widely in the Indian state of Goa. The preparation originated from the Portuguese. It is blend of fresh green herbs, garam masala powder, almond and tamarind marinated, fried and cooked.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken (cut to medium size washed thoroughly apply salt)
- 1 bunch coriander leaves
- 6 green chillies
- 10 garlic cloves
- 1"ginger
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 8 almond (soaked in water for fifteen minutes)
- Small lemon size tamarind
- 3 tbsp oil to fry
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Grind coriander leaves, green chillies, garlic, ginger, tamarind, almond, garam masala powder with little water to fine paste.
- Marinate chicken with the paste.
- In a pan add oil and shallow fry the chicken, cook both side till the chicken is done.
- Chicken Cafreal is ready to serve.
Note:
- Marinate the chicken overnight or at least for an hour.
- Can substitute almond to cashew.
