Bread pudding recipe is a popular desert found in Irani or Parsi restaurant specially served in the evening accompanied with hot cup of tea.
Bread pudding recipe is a simple desert prepared with few ingredients which are easily available in the kitchen. It is very nutritious and healthy because it is the combination of bread, eggs, milk and nuts.It is kids friendly recipe.
Bread pudding recipe is a sweet delicacy prepared from slightly stale leftover bread and also a very simple recipe. It is moist and soft.
There are three method of cooking pudding boiling, steaming and baking. Boiling method is the double boiling method, steaming method is preparing the pudding in cooker without whistle and rubber and baking method in oven, can use any one method from the three.
Step By Step Method
1. Take milk in a bowl.
2. Add slice bread to the milk.
3. Add sugar (can add sugar as per taste).
4. Now add coarsely crushed cashewnuts.
5. Add ghee (can add butter).
6. Add eggs (add one egg at a time and stir).
7. Add vanilla essence (can add green cardamon powder).
8. Give a quick stir and pour it in a grease tray and bake it in pre-heated oven at 180 degree Celsius for thirty minutes or till done.
9. After baked remove from oven allow it to rest for thirty minutes.10. Bread pudding is ready to serve, slice it and serve with hot cup of tea.

Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
- Bread slices 8 nos
- ghee 1 tbsp
- eggs 4 nos
- sugar 3/4 cup (as per taste)
- milk 2 cup
- coarsely crushed cashew 2 tbsp
- almond sliced 1 tbsp
- vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Cut the bread into cubes and place it in a bowl.
- Add milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla essence and coarsely crushed cashew, mix all the ingredient nicely with spoon or electric blender.
- Put the mixture in a greased mould or dish and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
- Bake it in pre-heated oven for thirty minutes at 180 degree.
- Remove it from oven and let it cool and then unmould it.
- Bread pudding is ready to serve.
- The texture of pudding comes good if the bread are slightly stale or leftover.

- Can substitute cashew with raisins or can add both.
- When removed out of oven prick it with knife or tooth pick if it comes out clean means the pudding is cooked.
- Choose whole grain for recipes instead of highly refined products. Use whole-wheat flour, oatmeal and whole cornmeal.
